Slavic Bride Convention

The most important occasion in a Slavic relatives is the marriage meeting, which is typically celebrated in spring, summer or autumn. It was a time for celebration and delight, as it marked the beginning of the new career. Military married after successful strategies, fishing held their marriages after a good catch and shepherds tied the knot after the calving period.

Before the wedding ceremony, the wedding is usually given a rushnyk ( a flower with a cross). Her parents existing her with bread and salt and inquire for their gift. They also give the couple ektenias ( a ring ) that symbolizes a slavic marriage and a promise of faithfulness and fidelity. The bride wears a veil, which she never takes off, except to go to the bath. It was considered a bad sign to take off the veil during the service, and in old times it was customary to punish a married who did so.

After the service the newlyweds walk through the streets of the community, with people throwing seedlings of corn, sweets and cash for happiness and prosperity. They also stop at regional monuments and present gift. The wedding ceremony is supervised by a master of ceremonies called a“ Tamada“. He is a raucous pal who runs the several competitions.

When the wife leaves her parents ‚ property, she takes with her a shawl that she should retain, not to give away or permit everyone touch. The vicar’s family tested the wife by asking her questions and requesting fluids from her. If they placed money on a tray, the bride may offer them water or answers their issues.
